Join in the fun at a Cal Baseball Game this season!
Cal Bears are playing the Oregon State Beavers on Sunday, 3/18, at 1:05pm and the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday, 5/12, at 6:05pm. Tickets are $10 each. Please let Royelle Walters, CVI Events Coordinator, know ASAP at if your family is interested and how many tickets you'd like!
Opening Day is Saturday, March 3! T-Ball and C-Div start regular games, while B-Div, A-Div, and Intermediate will be playing practice games, but we will have umpires to manage the game and get used to our rules. A-Div, B-Div, and Intermediate, please utilize your pitch count and make sure you are turning in the home team's signed page for the records. For the practice games of the Upper Divisions, we will not have umpires during the week of 3/5-3/9. Please use an extra coach to help call balls and strikes from behind the mound.
Field Clean-up Day will take place at both Canyon Fields and Marshall Fields on Saturday, February 24th. Every year, CVI pours hundreds of volunteer hours into getting our fields clean and safe for the upcoming season – and as part of our ongoing efforts of good stewardship of Castro Valley USD playing fields - we rely on our CVI families to work hard throughout the season to keep our home fields looking GREAT. Volunteers should bring hand/garden tools (rakes, shovels, brooms, trimmers, weed whackers, etc), trash bags and gloves. Coordinators will set up Field Assignments and communicate locations prior to the workday. Participation at this event determines your team’s regular practice day. No practices will be permitted on this weekend. After our Field Clean-up efforts, we are also starting a new tradition and having a BBQ lunch at Marshall Field at noon on Saturday, February 24 to kick off the season. Uniforms and Lanyards will be passed out to Coaches and Team Coordinators between 9-10am at Marshall Field.
