We are having our final coaches' meeting this Wednesday, 1/24, from 7-9pm in the Canyon Middle School Cafeteria.If you are registered as a coach or are interested in assisting on a team this season and have not attended our earlier coaches' meeting for this season (on 12/13), you will need to attend this meeting, as it is mandatory in order to receive a lanyard.
Just a reminder that our A-Division Evaluation/Draft will be held at 10am this Saturday, 1/20, at Marshall Field (rain or shine). Please bring your baseball gear and be there by 9:45am to sign in. The Evaluation Draft is expected to last until about 11:30am.
The Evaluation/Draft is for players that have not yet been assigned to an A-Division team for this season, NOT for returning players who are staying on their team from last year and NOT for Frozen players. If your player has been requested as Frozen by your Coach, please make sure he/she has the completed form by this Wednesday, 1/17. Coaches must have all A-Division Frozen Player Forms turned in to Matt Collopy by Thursday, 1/18.

Come out and dust off your baseball gloves Saturday, January 6, from 10am-12pm. Weather permitting, we'll be having a Dust Off the Glove Clinic for all Divisions at Marshall Field, and all CVI players are welcome to attend! If you're not sure if it's on, come by the field - the Board will be there, rain or shine.
We are still looking for interested coaches in ALL Divisions. If you or anyone else you know is interested, please let us know ASAP!
Coaches - be sure to register your own kids and get all your frozen players' paperwork in before your Division Draft.

We're gearing up for Baseball Season! Our second General Baseball Meeting for 2018 Coaches and Managers is Wednesday, 1/24, from 7-9pm in the Cafeteria at Canyon Middle School. Please mark your calendar, as this meeting is mandatory for anyone who will be coaching or managing a team this season and obtaining a lanyard!
This meeting is a great time to take care of all your paperwork, register your own kids (if you haven't already!), and turn in your Frozen Player forms. Here are the requirements for Coaches or Managers to obtain a CVISL Lanyard:
1. ATTEND MANDATORY GENERAL MEETING, which will include a presentation from Positive Coaching Alliance
2. Submit completed Volunteer Application to the League Registrar at
and sign Coaches/Managers Code of Conduct form
3. Submit a copy of a valid government-issued photo I.D. (Driver's License or equivalent)
4. Head-shot photo (or forward jpeg mugshot photo to the League Registrar)
5. Complete Concussion Awareness Training – The required online course can be found at: http://www.nfhslearn.com. Upon completion, please forward a copy of the Completion Certificate to your Division Coordinator or the League Registrar.
6. Completion of online Cal Ripken Course (Mandatory for Managers Only - Coaches are welcome to complete) - The required online course can be found at: www.baberuthcoaching.org . Upon completion, please forward a copy of the Certificate of Completion to your Division Coordinator or the League Registrar. Once you have completed the course, your certification will be valid for the remainder of your coaching/managing career with CVISL. Additionally, upon successful completion of the course, the associated costs will be reimbursed by CVISL – simply present the Certificate of Completion to your Division Coordinator and request the course fee reimbursement.

As you may know/heard, there has been talk about new 2018 bat rules for youth baseball. It is with pleasure, we announce CVI will not be adapting to any new bat rules in 2018. Bats that were previously approved for use, in both Little League and Independent Leagues will be authorized for play at CVI, 2018 season!
